During the latest edition of the NIDV
Exhibition Defence & Security (NEDS) exhibition Dutch defence company
AEC Skyline announced it has acquired the Australian specialist information
technology company S2IX including all proprietary rights to its proven secure
information management, exchange and interoperability software. By
acquiring S2IX, AEC Skyline will further expand its already comprehensive
portfolio of C4ISR solutions while establishing S2IX International as a
separate business unit, complementing the efforts of its aviation and critical
data solutions divisions.

Supporting
NATO’s Federated Mission Network (FMN) standards, the advanced S2IX software
platform integrates natively with next generation defence capabilities and
C4ISR. From the enterprise to the tactical edge, S2IX enables decision-makers,
intelligence professionals, and operators to maintain decision advantage,
thereby supporting the future of operations. Sharing critical information
across organisational boundaries using S2IX thus allows defence partners to
strengthen interoperability and focus on achieving favourable mission outcomes,
as has been demonstrated during NATO’s Coalition Warrior Interoperability
Exercise (CWIX) and similar innovation schemes.

“AEC Skyline already contributes to various
major digitisation efforts by military and public safety agencies in the
Netherlands and abroad, enabling the successful conduct of true intelligence
driven operations,” said Stef Have, CEO of AEC Skyline. “Bringing S2IX into AEC
Skyline’s fold will make us an even stronger player in the digital
interoperability field.”

Perry Smith, VP S2IX
International Global: “I am excited for S2IX to join AEC Skyline because
it builds naturally on the work we have already done together, especially
delivering trusted, customer-focused solutions. By combining S2IX’s secure data
exchange platform with AEC Skyline’s operational and ISR capabilities we can
strengthen and expand what the group offers to defence and government
customers. This partnership sets us up to deliver even more resilient,
sovereign and impactful capabilities across Europe and beyond.”

S2IX
– Driving information superiority

Aimed at ensuring a timely, reliable and
secure transfer of vital data between various command and control echelons,
even in denied, disrupted, intermittent and limited conditions, S2IX mission
planning software enables defence forces and public safety agencies to gather
and interpret data generated by various sensors, systems. Integrating with
battle management systems or similar platforms, networks and
infrastructure, S2IX’s versatile data management features ease planning,
management and decision-making during multidomain operations anywhere in
the world. Due to the software’s military grade Zero Trust architecture, these
automated, deployable services come with multi-level security protection up to
top secret, carefully balancing the need to know with the need to share at all
layers of command and control.
